Cedeno: Clutch hits - 1, WS predictions - 1
Ugh, Ronny, Ronny, Ronny. Everything is going so well right now (even with Soriano on the DL) and now bench player Ronny Cedeno who delivered a clutch 2-out hit with the bases loaded in the 8th inning says the Cubs are thinking about the Fall Classic... when it's not even MAY yet.
Again, in a word.... ugh.
"We're thinking about the World Series," he said. "I think we'll be OK if we keep playing like that."
Ronny, ask Zambrano about making predictions, ask Sports Illustrated (are they EVER right?)
The Cubs are playing great baseball. They are 13-6 and have scored more than 30 more runs than their opponents, but let's not get too crazy yet. I mean, the Cubs are 6-0 against the Pirates and 7-6 against everyone else. The bats are alive and Big Z is playing great, but let's temper those expectations for a few months.
I want a confident Derrek Lee saying that in late August, not bench player Ronny Cedeno after one clutch hit in mid-April.
